Year 1 Newsletter - Week 8 Term 3

12th June 2021

This week has seen us revise various concepts covered in preparation for the forthcoming end of year exams next week.

The highlight of the week was our ‘#communitycarer’ assembly. In line with the term’s target, we embarked on putting a smile on people within the Braeside community, namely (traffic marshals and the school caretakers.)

Children did their house chores diligently to earn money which they used to purchase gifts. They were very excited to see their own photos during the assembly.

We thanked our traffic marshals and the school caretakers (Mr. Ken, Mr. Chege, Mr. Nelson, Mr. Nzioka, Mr. Eric, Mr. Ben, Mr. Kitua and Mr. Wambua) and presented them with their gifts. They were greatly moved by this gesture and expressed lots of gratitude. They also entertained us through songs. Children were very fascinated to discover that some of them can play piano and drums so well. It was an hour well spent.

We take this opportunity to express our heartfelt gratitude to our parents for allowing the children to work and earn money. Thank you for also taking them shopping and helping them deliver the gifts. May God bless you!
